73% of Romanians who would turn out in the second round of the presidential elections in Romania on December 6 would support the candidate they prefer, while only 27% of Romanians would vote to prevent one of the nominees from winning, an INSOMAR opinion poll reveals.
51% of the voters of the incumbent President Traian Basescu are aged between 18 and 34, while 55% of the electorate of Mircea Geoana are between 50 and 64 years of age.
Most of the voters who support Geoana in the run-off race are residents of the rural areas – 57% against 43% of Basescu’s supporters.
47% of the residents of the cities would vote for the current head of state, while 53% of them would prefer to cast a ballot paper for Mircea Geoana, the poll says.
54% of male and 55% of female voters would vote for Geoana.
54% of Bucharest residents would vote for the candidate of the social democrats, whereas 46% – for Basescu.
