Macedonian president won’t travel to Prizren

Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov has refused to attend an informal meeting of leaders from several countries scheduled for January in Prizren.

Albanian language newspapers in Priština write today that the “informal summit, planned to be held on January 7 and 8 in Prizren, is organized by Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu”.

Ivanov’s cabinet released in a statement that the invitation to the meeting did not arrive at the president’s address, stressing that the president’s agenda was busy.

Despite earlier announcements, Ivanov has not paid an official visit to Priština yet.

The January meeting will be attended by Albanian President Bamir Topi, Croatian President Stjepan Mesić and Montenegrin President Filip Vujanović.
