Foreign ministers of Georgia and Switzerland didn’t discussed Georgian-Russian relations

Georgian-Russian relations were not discussed during yesterday’s meeting of foreign ministers of Georgia Grigol Vashadze and Switzerland Micheline Calmy-Rey.

The president of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE), Swiss Foreign Minister Calmy-Rey said that she arrived in Georgia as president of CoE Committee of Ministers and therefore, this issue will be discussed during her second visit as the foreign minister of Switzerland in the spring of this year.

Calmy-Rey confirmed that tomorrow will go to Moscow, but as the Swiss foreign minister and at the meeting with her Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, she will discuss Georgian-Russian relations. “We will discuss with Lavrov the human rights situation in the territories detached from Georgia,” she said.
