A Moldovan delegation headed by Premier Vlad Filat will pay a one-day visit to Kiev on Monday, February 1
The delegation consists of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leancă, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Popov, and main state advisers Nicu Popescu and Igor Volnitski.
According to the Prime Minister, the visit will be made at the invitation of the Ukrainian Premier Yulia Timoshenko. While in Kiev, the Moldovan delegation will discuss aspects of the bilateral relations, delimitation of the border on certain segments and other issues.
Filat said they hope to sign a protocol on Moldova’s property located on the territory of Ukraine and an agreement of cooperation in solving problems faced by the youth.
The Moldovan officials will also have meetings with representatives of Ukrainian political parties. The Premier voiced hope the visit will be fruitful even if the neighboring country is in the middle of an electoral process.
