The Hague Tribunal President, Judge Patrick Robinson, said the appeal in Radovan Karadzic case would be completed by February 2014, and all other appeals in 2013.
As regards the reparations for war crimes victims, Judge Robinson said the issue has been submitted to the UN General Assembly, but the reparations were not paid because of the global economic crisis.
Judge Robinson made the remarks at a two-day conference “Assessing the legacy of ICTY”, a forum for discussion among stakeholders, local and international alike, on key elements of the Tribunal’s legacy.
“We convened this conference in order to consult with you on the Tribunal’s legacy and to take stock of the work that is already being done to ensure that the Tribunal has a lasting impact,” Robinson said in his opening remarks.
