NATO committee cancels Kosovo visit

NATO Military Committee Chairman Giampaolo di Paolo and Allied Joint Force Command Naples Commander Mark Fitzgerald will not be visitng Kosovo today.

They were scheduled to meet with the KFOR commander, Gen. Markus Bentler, and chiefs of the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF), it was announced previously.

Besides this, the committee was to observe an exercise to be performed by KSF at a power station in Obilić, “with the goal of KSF showing its capabilities as an organization that can answer in crisis situations”, said KFOR in its original statement.

Members of the NATO committee also wished to ascertain that there has been a positive development of the situation in Kosovo, said the statement.

The committee is in charge of providing guidelines and counsel related to the military alliances policies and strategy.
