Macedonia and Russia to sign cooperation memorandum

The State advisor for foreign affairs of Macedonian President Gjorgje Ivanov, Darko Kostadinovski said that Macedonia and Russia will soon sign a cooperation and friendship memorandum, adding that Russian President Dimitry Medvedev is likely to come and visit Macedonia.

The relations between the two countries have reached the level, when two countries should sign a cooperation and friendship memorandum, Kostadinovski said.

He pointed out that this initiative has been expected, adding that Macedonian President Ivanov has already supported this step.

Macedonia is ready for such a deal, as it will boost constant political dialogue and deepen the cooperation in several areas: economy, energy, culture, education, tourism etc, Kostadinovski said.

He expressed hope that the two presidents will meet in Macedonia and sign this deal soon.
