Macedonian Foreign Minister: Name dispute settlement in footsteps of Slovenia-Croatia model

Macedonian Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki said Slovenian-Croatian model should be applied in an effort to unblock Macedonia’s integration into the Euro-Atlantic community.

Milososki made the remarks at the meeting with his German counterpart Guido Westerwelle, Deutsche Welle’s Macedonian news said on Tuesday.

Milososoki underlined that such a model of dispute resolution would ensure that both the integration process and the negotiations with Greece roll out simultaneously.

German foreign minister emphasized the importance of continuing the dialogue between Macedonia and Greece, and he underlined the need for follow-up of reform process in Macedonia.

“Maintain the bilateral dialogue with Greece, and see if there are possibilities for such a dialogue to produce a result. Make sure that such opportunity be capitalized. At the same time, continue the reforms at home, in line with guidelines set out by the European Commission. And keep your file and your achievements at Brussels’ level. That’s a strong argument that cannot be overlooked,” Westerwelle told Milososoki.
