“Macedonia registered great progress over the last years on its way to the European Union. The EU accession is needed so as to attract foreign investments, decrease the unemployment rate and it is an engine for the multi-ethnic society. Thus the country should not miss its chance,” said President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, after meeting Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski. He welcomed the reforms in the country but also remarked that the name dispute solution is important for Macedonia to continue its European way.
“The EU keeps on supporting the efforts for finding an acceptable solution,” Rompuy added.
