Greece is ready to assist Georgia in the European and Euro-Atlantic integration process. Greek officials made the statement during recent Georgian-Greek political consultations in Tbilisi, the Georgian Foreign Ministry told Trend.
The consultations were attended by the heads of the two countries’ foreign ministry departments. Within the talks, head of the Greek delegation Karolos Guidici and Greek Ambassador to Georgia Georgios Chatzimichellakis met with Georgian FM Grigol Vashadze.
Greece also reiterated its commitment to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
“The Georgian side provided detailed information about the situation in the Georgian territories occupied by Russia, internal political processes, and ongoing political and economic reforms,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
The sides discussed the possibility of expanding the legal framework between the two countries. Particular attention was paid to Georgia’s relations with NATO and the EU.
The meeting stressed the need to deepen bilateral ties and cooperation in multilateral formats.
