EC to publish report on Serbia

The European Commission will today in Brussels publish its report on Serbia’s EU accession.

It is expected that Serbia will be called on to invest more efforts to find and arrest war crimes fugitives, and to reform the country’s judiciary and administration.

In its report the EC welcomed cooperation with neighbors, especially Croatia and the latest moves to improve ties with Bosnia, and also Serbia’s progress in fighting organized crime.

The report also gives great significance to Belgrade’s cooperation with the EU to start dialogue with Priština through the UN resolution, and sees it as important for strengthening the stability of the region, better lives and the road to Europe.
