A Croatian woman accused of war crimes in Bosnia has been arrested in the US state of Kentucky. Azra Basic, a Croatian who lives in Kentucky, is accused of torturing and murdering Serbs at prison camps in Bosnia from April to June 1992.

While Loren “Squirrel” Carl, U.S. marshal for the Eastern District of Kentucky, confirmed that Basic was arrested on Tuesday, he would not give details of the charges she faces. However, court documents in Kentucky show that Basic is accused of torturing detainees while reportedly serving as a commander in a Croatian army brigade.
