Croatian President is confident that his country will join EU by 2013

The EU membership requirements are one package. Croatia is doing what Bulgaria did, Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov said at a joint press conference with his Croatian counterpart Ivo Josipovic. He was asked about the rate of political lobbying for Croatia’s EU membership.

The Croatian President said he had been lobbying for his country’s EU membership since taking over the post. He noted the opposition in Croatia had been doing the same. According to him the intensive lobbying will continue until 31 December 2012. He expressed hope his country would join the EU by 2013.
