The sixth round of talks on the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union took place in Chisinau. The members of the European delegation said the Moldovan state made significant progress in a number of areas.
In a news conference on Monday, Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman, who is the chief negotiator on behalf of Moldova, said the discussions on the political dialogue, reforms and cooperation in foreign policy and security have been closed. She stated that the negotiations on 21 of the 24 chapters of the economic and sector cooperation agreement are over. When all the 24 chapters are carried out, the road will open for Moldova to fully implement the legislation and main standards of the EU.
The next round of talks will take place in Brussels in June.
