Europol Report Will Delay Bulgaria Schengen Entry, says Bulgarian MEP

The recent Europol report pinpointing Bulgaria as an entry point of drugs to Europe will delay the country’s entry in the Schengen Area, according to Bulgarian socialist MEP Kristian Vigenin.

Sunday Vigenin informally met supporters of the Bulgarian Socialist Party in Plovdiv and discussed the aftermath of the yearly Europol analysis, published earlier this week.

“This critical report opens new issues that will delay the accession of our country to the Schengen Treaty,” stated Vigenin as reported by the local Socialist Party press center.

According to the Socialist MEP the situation described in the report puts into question not only the activities of the Ministry of Interior, but also of the whole center-right GERB cabinet, which had set as its key priority the struggle with organized crime.
