OSCE says political stability in Moldova is needed

Petros Efthymiou, president of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, said that Moldova’s progress on the path toward European integration was important for the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and for the country’s political stability. The official made this statement during a meeting with the Moldovan Speaker and interim President, Marian Lupu.

The interlocutors discussed about the implementation of common projects regarding the promotion of democratic reforms in Moldova and the development of the civil society, including the election monitoring by the OSCE in Moldova.

The next 5+2 meeting is scheduled for June 2011, in Moscow.
