Brammertz: Croatia is cooperating with UN Tribunal

Chief UN prosecutor Serge Brammertz has said that Croatia is cooperating with the tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, but missing military documents have yet to be delivered.

The Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY, told the UN Security Council on Monday that in general, timely and adequate responses were received concerning requests for witnesses and evidence.

He added, however, that “limited progress was made in locating the missing military documents concerning Operation Storm”.

Croatia’s full cooperation with the ICTY is one of the benchmarks for closing the policy area no. 23 on Judiciary and Fundamental Rights in Croatia’s EU entry talks.
