Romanian ambassador to Armenia says NATO is not indifferent to Karabakh conflict

NATO has repeatedly stated the Karabakh settlement issue to be outside of the Alliance’s scope, Romanian ambassador to Armenia said.

“This, however, does not mean NATO is not concerned over the issue,” Crina Prunariu told a news conference in Yerevan.

Dwelling on the opinions that Romania is more keen to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan rather than Armenia, the ambassador stressed her country’s attempt to preserve balance in the issue. “Surely, economic ties with Azerbaijan are stronger, but politically, we’re attempting to preserve balance. Romania has never shown preference to either of the countries where international relations are concerned,” she stressed.
