Macedonian President says the country should hold talks with EU and Greece simultaneously

Croatia will keep on supporting Macedonia in its Euro-Atlantic bid. As a future member of the EU Croatia will not put hurdles on Macedonia’s road, despite the open bilateral issue with Greece, Croatian President Ivo Josipovic said after meeting his Macedonian counterpart Gjorge Ivanov on Monday.

Ivanov asked Croatia to insist on applying the positive Croatian-Slovenian example in the name dispute between Athens and Skopje.

“If this example is used, Macedonia could hold talks with the EU and about the name issue simultaneously,” said Ivanov.
