Moldova’s ruling coalition to hold referendum on amending the constitution

The ruling Alliance for European Integration will hold a referendum by the end of April about amendment of the constitution. Then a president of Moldova will have to be elected within a month.

The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party and Moldova’s Prime Minister, Vlad Filat, said the referendum aimed at finding a way out of the political crisis.

Democratic Party leader Marian Lupu said that experts would soon draft constitutional amendments.
