Romanian FM was sacked after remarks about protesters

Romania’s Prime Minister Emil Boc on Monday sacked Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi after he disparaging remarks towards protesters who took part in recent mass street demonstrations.

“I sincerely regret the gaffes made by some of my colleagues regarding the demonstrators,” Boc told parliament. “I apologise to all Romanians and I have decided to sack Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi for his remarks.
