EU and US appointed ambassadors to Kosovo

Slovenia’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Zbogar, will take over as the EU’s leading envoy in Kosovo, while Washington has named Tracey Ann Jacobson as its new ambassador.

The European Union foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, appointed Zbogar, who has served as Slovenia’s Foreign Minister since 2008, as the EU’s Special Representative for Kosovo.

Zbogar will replace the Italian diplomat Fernando Gentilini starting February the 1st, and his mandate will terminate on June 30, 2013.

The United States has named its new ambassador for Kosovo, Tracey Ann Jacobson, a former envoy to Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
