Russia to keep troops in Transdnestr

Dmitry Rogozin said on Tuesday that Moscow will not bow to Western pressure and abandon its peacekeeping mission in Moldova’s breakaway region of Transdnestr.

“We see no grounds for reviewing our peacekeeping mission,” Rogozin said, adding that the Russian military presence is a condition for regional security.

“The mission will continue,” he said.
