Borislav Mikelic set for retrial

Borislav Mikelic will be retried at the request of his lawyer after being sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in 1993 in absentia.

A pretrial hearing will be held on April 23 at the County Court in Zagreb. The retrial will be held in the same place.

The date for the start of the trial will be set at the closed hearing by Judge Zeljko Horvatovic.

The County Court in Sisak found Mikelic guilty in 1993 of “coordinating and preparing armed rebellion against the Croatian government” and of ordering attacks on the town of Petrinja and other locations in the area.
