Slovenia backs Serbia on it’s EU path

Slovenia is in favor of giving Serbia an EU talks start date as soon as possible, Serbian and Slovenian FMs Ivan Mrkić and Karl Erjavec have said.

Slovenia is convinced Serbia deserves to get a date this year, especially considering what has been achieved in recent months, including the Brussels agreement on normalization of relations between Belgrade and Priština and the implementation plan, said the Slovenian foreign minister.

This would send the right message to the whole region, considering the fact Croatia will become a full-fledged EU member on July 1, he said.
