France says new Egypt’s cabinet should solve people demands

France on Wednesday encouraged the new Egyptian government to work quickly to meet the expectations of the Egyptian people and transfer power as rapidly as possible to democratically elected forces, inclusive of all political affiliations.

The new Egyptian executive was sworn in on Tuesday after a popular military intervention July 3 led to the ouster of President Mohammed Morsi and his supporters from the Muslim Brotherhood.

“We want the new government to be able to respond to the numerous expectations of the Egyptian people and do everything to assure as quickly as possible the transfer of power to democratically elected authorities,” a French Foreign Ministry statement said.

France also said that such a process of transfer “implies the inclusion of all forces and all political trends.” Fresh elections in Egypt are expected some time before the end of the year.
