Serbia’s foreign policy goal is EU accession, says Parliament Speaker

Serbian Parliament Speaker Nebojsa Stefanović has said in the talks with OSCE ambassadors that EU accession is Serbia’s fundamental foreign policy goal.

According to a release, Stefanović notified the ambassadors about the priorities of the reshuffled government and its aims, and the judiciary activities of the parliament.

The parliament speaker underscored the importance of progress in the talks with the interim Kosovo institutions in Brussels, especially concerning telecommunications and energy.

Stefanović attached particular importance to the forthcoming local elections in Kosovo-Metohija, and noted that it is exceptionally important for Serbs and their lists to have equal rights in the elections.

The role of OSCE in the creation of fair and secure atmosphere in the elections is crucial, since the position of Serbs is very sensitive and high turnout needs to be achieved, Stefanović said.
