French PM visits China

Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Xi said China looks forward to working with France to build political trust, and respect each other’s core interests, as well as enhance communication to promote bilateral relations.

He added that China attaches great importance to France’s influential role in the EU, and expressed his hope that France will play a constructive role in promoting the development of relations between China and the EU.

Ayrault replied that France is willing to expand cooperation with China in various categories like nuclear energy, aviation and trade.
