Algeria, Morocco and Egypt condemned the cowardly terrorist attack of last Wednesday, which killed 15 and wounded 23 in the ranks of the Tunisian army, expressing their solidarity with the Tunisian government and people in this ordeal.

Caretaker President of the Republic Mohamed Moncef Marzouki received from his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika, in his name and on behalf of the Algerian brotherly people, a message in which he voiced support to Tunisia in its fight against terrorism. The Algerian Head of State voiced conviction that this heinous crime “will never prevent the determination of the Tunisian people to overcome terrorism.”

In turn, The Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra stigmatised, in a talk with his Tunisian counterpart Mongi Hamdi, this “cowardly act”, reasserting Algeria’s solidarity with Tunisia. He said he never doubted the capacity of the Tunisian people to overcome this ordeal “as did before the Algerian people, to eradicate for good terrorism,” asserting that “Tunisia will continue to move forward in its work under way for the edification of a new, strong and safe state.”
