Visiting Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met Monday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeir, discussing issues pertaining to bilateral ties and matters of mutual interest.
An official statement here said that the Syrian crisis, Turkey’s EU membership bid, and efforts to counter Islamophobia were discussed during the meeting.
Later, the Turkish Prime Minister is expected to deliver a lecture on the Middle East situation to the Turkish community in Berlin.
Davutoglu arrived here yesterday from France after partaking in the “republican march” held in protest of the Charlie Hebdo attack which left 12 staff editors and two policemen dead.
