The number of Syrian refugees living in shelters in Turkey reached 259,533, the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency of Turkey (AFAD) announced in a statement Wednesday.
The number of Syrians living in tents and prefabricated homes provided by the Turkish government reached 14.585 in Hatay, 51.507 in Gaziantep, 103.001 in Sanliurfa, 36.017 in Kilis, 14.879 in Mardin, 17.349 in Kahramanmaras Mrash, 9.182 in Osmaniye, 9.916 in Adiyaman, 11.038 in Adana, and 7.699 in Malatya, Anadolu Agency reported, citing the AFAD’s statement.
The statement added some 19.445 Syrians flowed to Turkey via its borders to escape recent events in the city of Tel Abyad.
