The Tunisian government has decided to lift the night curfew imposed on January 22 on the territory following an unprecedented wave of social protest since the 2011 revolution, thus acknowledging the return to calm in the country observed for one week .
“Given the improvement in the security situation, it was decided as of Thursday (…) to lift the curfew on the whole country,” said the Interior Ministry in a statement on 4 February. The device had already been reduced on 25 January. In mid-January a protest movement out of Kasserine (West) had shaken the country for several days in an unprecedented manner, both in scope and in duration since the 2011 revolution.
