Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi stressed on the support of Egypt Tuesday to the political process in Libya sponsored by the United Nations, as well as efforts to form a national consensus government.
Sisi’s comments came Tuesday after receiving Akila Saleh, the Speaker of Parliament of Libya.
Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said the president has confirmed the interest of Egypt in providing all forms of assistance to the Libyan institutions to be able to preserve the safety, security and the national unity.
Youssef added that Sisi and Saleh discussed the recent political developments in Libya and that he expressed his gratitude for the efforts exerted by Egypt for the sake of contributing to stability and peace in Libya.
