AU condemns double attack in Somalia

MOGADISHU- The African Union (AU) has condemned Monday the double attack perpetrated by the terrorist group Al-Shabaab in the town of Baidoa, south of Somalia, Sunday evening.
The Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission for Somalia, Francisco Caetano Madeira has strongly condemned the terror attacks, which claimed the lives of at least 30 people and injured 42 others, according to the latest toll by local authorities.
“The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) is in close cooperation with Somali security forces as well as with other partners to combat the terrorist organization,” he said.
In Sunday evening, a car bomb burst near a crowded restaurant, and a suicide bomber blew himself up in a busy junction.
The two attacks were claimed by the Somali terrorist group Al-Shabaab.
