Algeria security forces destroy 6 terrorist bunkers

Algerian security forces destroyed six suspected terrorist bunkers and three homemade bombs in three northern provinces on Wednesday, the Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
The operation, in the provinces of Tizi Ouzou, Jijel and Skikda, was part of the fight against terrorism, the ministry said.
It did not say whether any suspects were killed or arrested.
One day earlier, 27 suspected terrorist bunkers were destroyed in Tizi Ouzou and two other provinces, Boumerdes and Bejaia.
Militants affiliated with al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb and the recently established Islamic State affiliated group named “Caliphate Soldiers” are believed to be hiding in dense forests in northern Algeria.
Over the last seven months, about 80 armed militants have been killed in counter-terror operations around the country, authorities said.
