Algerian army seizes weapons near south-eastern border

img21A quantity of arms and munitions have been found Friday in Debdeb, Illizi (1850-km southeast of Algiers), near the country’s south-eastern border, by People’s National Army units, the ministry of National Defence said in a statement.
“In an operation to secure the border and fight organized crime and thanks to the constant vigilance of the People’s National Army forces and the effective use of the intelligence gathered, a detachment from the operational section of In Amenas (4th military command) has discovered today, 30 September 2016, a quantity of arms and munitions in Debdeb, province of Illizi, near the country’s south-eastern border,” the statement underlined.
“The operation resulted in the seizure of three Kalashnikov submachine guns, a rifle with telescope sight, a hunting rifle, an automatic gun, 10 cartridge clips and 482 bullets of different calibres.”
