Algerian army destroys four terrorist bunkers

Four terrorist bunkers were destroyed Sunday by an Army detachment while seven members of terrorist supporting groups were arrested in Boumerdes and Sid Bel Abbes, the ministry of National Defence said in a statement.
In a counterterrorism operation “a detachment of the People’s National Army destroyed four terrorist bunkers in Bejaia (5th military district) on 19 March 2017, while other detachments and
National Gendarmerie units, in coordination with national police, arrested seven members of terrorist supporting groups in Boumerdes (1st military district) and Sidi Bel Abbes (2nd military district),” the statement said.
As part of their fight against smuggling and organized crime, National Gendarmerie units “intercepted in Sidi Bel Abbes (2nd military district) two drug traffickers and seized 7.7 kilogrammes of cannabis.”
Another Army detachment “seized two lorries loaded with 45 quintals of tobacco in Biskra (4th military district).”
In Tamanrasset and Bordj Badji Mokhtar (6th military district), Army units “arrested nine smugglers and seized a lorry, nine all-terrain vehicles, 16.7 tonnes of foodstuffs, 12,450 litres of fuel and 3,000 litres of cooking oil.”
