EU High Representative Federica Mogherini met in Brussels Wednesday with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, and exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional issues.
The talks covered the Iran nuclear deal, Syria, Libya, Palestine and the situation in Yemen and more widely in the Red Sea region, according to a statement released by Mogherini’s office.
One year after the adoption of the EU-Egypt Partnership Priorities in July 2017, the EU foreign policy chief and the Egyptian Foreign Minister took stock of the progress achieved, as well as remaining challenges, it said.
They agreed on the need to continue to strengthen dialogue and cooperation on all issues, with the view to address common challenges, promote joint interests and guarantee long-term stability on both sides of the Mediterranean, it added.
