Idlib city | Unknown assailants attack HTS checkpoint, a few days after eliminating an ISIS cell

Reliable sources have informed thee Syrian Observatory that unknown gunmen attacked, last night, a checkpoint of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham at the southern entrance of Idlib city, on the road to Areha. Clashes erupted between the attackers and HTS members stationed at the checkpoint, then HTS brought in military reinforcement to the area, before the attackers escaped. No casualties have been reported so far.

A few days ago, reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that a member of an Islamic State cell of Eastern European nationality blew himself up, and another one was shot dead, while two other members surrendered to the HTS security forces during a raid on their house in the city of Kafr Takharem in Idlib countryside in the evening.

SOHR activists said earlier that a member of the HTS security forces was killed and five others were injured during clashes with members of the Islamic State in Kafr Takhareem city in north-western Idlib province.
