Israel Wants to Control 70% of Gaza – Netanyahu

Israel has no intention of leaving Gaza but wants to reoccupy the Gaza Strip. And anybody who says different is living in cloud cuckoo land!

The promises made during the 10 October, 2025, ceasefire, and dictated by US president Donald Trump, have become mere ink-on-paper that means nothing but is camouflaged as war by other means.

At the time of the ceasefire, Israel insisted it would redeploy partially but still control 53 percent of the Strip, a so-called yellow security line until final terms of an accord between Tel Aviv and Hamas is reached.

However, it quickly became apparent this was a more ploy. Soon after 10 October of last year, Israel started expanding the “goal-posts” creeping back into Gaza with the 53 percent slowly increasing.

According to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Israel today controls 60 percent of the Gaza Strip and says he has ordered his army to expand that control to 70 percent despite the peace deal reached in Sharm Al Sheikh last October.

This means rolling back his army, slowly to capturing more territory of the strip and squeezing the Palestinian population – at 2.1 million – into smaller and smaller areas.

The new hike puts the Trump plan in jeopardy with total Israeli withdrawal from the 364-kilometer-strip off the table. Bassem Naim, a senior Hamas official, says Israel, and it openly admits that it has increased its control to 8 percent or 9 percent as an initial move to control its grip on the territory.

Netanyahu’s comments have already garnered much anger and frustration not least of all from the United Nations. Stephane Dujarric, UN spokesman, said that Netanyahu’s comments are unacceptable.

“One hundred percent of Gaza should be for the Palestinian people,” he told reporters at the UN headquarters in New York. “That’s what we want to see and we have been calling on Israel to pull back from its occupation of its so-called yellow line, and that will continue to be our position,” Dujarric added.
