TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian and Omani armed forces are decisive to bolster military and intelligence cooperation, chief of the joint staff of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said.
Speaking in a meeting with a senior military delegation from Oman here on Sunday, General Mohammad Hejazi voiced pleasure with military relations among Muslim countries.
“Fortunately, there has been a good progress in Iran-Oman relations in different areas, but we should not suffice to that level of progress,” he said.
The General also called for an increase in the number of students exchanged by the two countries’ armed forces, adding that the meetings between the two sides has reduced problems for those trafficking between the two countries’ ports.
“Expansion of Iran-Oman relations would serve the interests of the two nations and would be beneficial to regional security,” he said.
“Development of relations and increased power of Iranian and Omani armed forces are beneficial to the security of both states and people of both countries are pleased with the deepening of these relations,” Hejazi added.
He also offered the Omani commanders that the two sides embark on new types of cooperation, including exchange of information, joint war games and periodic visits, in a bid to increase the two states’ control over the Sea of Oman and the Persian Gulf.
“Iran-Oman relations set a good paradigm for relations among other Persian Gulf littoral states,” the General concluded.
