Iranian FM Meets Russia’s Atom Chief

A036180720.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki met with Russia’s Atomic Energy Chief Sergei Kiriyenko in Moscow on Thursday.

During the meeting, Mottaki appreciated Russia’s hospitality and extended his congratulations to Kiriyenko on his appointment as the head of the country’s Federal Atomic Energy Agency.

He further stressed the need for the two sides to increase convergence in a bid to reach common viewpoints.

For his part, Kiriyenko welcomed the Iranian minister and reiterated the necessity for the bolstering of mutual cooperation.

The Iranian foreign minister arrived in Moscow Thursday to attend the 7th session of Iran-Russia Joint Economic and Commerce Cooperation.

The commission, co-chaired by Mottaki and Kiriyenko, is to discuss prospects of bilateral cooperation in various fields and explore avenues for expanding and boosting the two sides’ trade exchanges.
