TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki described his country as the most reliable and powerful partner for Russia in the region.
Addressing a meeting of Iranian expatriates in Russia Thursday night, Mottaki underlined Tehran’s resolve to further expand relations with Russia.
“Bolstering and deepening of cooperation with the Russian federation sets a significant strategy in Iran’s foreign relations,” he stressed.
The Iranian top diplomat, meantime, underlined that Tehran is not opposed to relations with the western world, saying that his country seeks fair and balanced ties with all the world states.
He said Russia has gone past a very specific era in the political arena, “and now that it has reached serious and reliable stability in the region it is keen to enter a new phase of regional activities.”
“And Iran is the most reliable and powerful regional partner for Russia’s new presence in the region,” Mottaki reiterated.
