“The value of the most well-known weapons manufacturers in the U.S. jumped by 23 billion after October 7; there is no doubt that the U.S. is profiting from this war,” emphasized Afour, concluding that the United States of America are hypocritical.
Dima Asfour, the first secretary of the Palestinian mission to the UN, spoke in Geneva, and her speech went viral on social media.
“The United States has no right to pretend to support civilians in Gaza, they have no right when the U.S. has just approved an additional $15.5 billion in military aid to Israel while Israel is killing Palestinians, mostly refugees and children,“ said Afour.
She questioned how the U.S. can explain that its actions align with any of its duties under international law.
“It’s not surprising that the stock prices of weapons manufacturers have reached record levels recently and continue to rise as Israel destroys Gaza. The value of the most well-known weapons manufacturers in the U.S. jumped by 23 billion after October 7; there is no doubt that the U.S. is profiting from this war,“ emphasized Afour, concluding that the United States is hypocritical.
“Throughout its entire history, the U.S. has only been at peace with another country for 15 years. Only 15 years in the entire history. Neither Israel nor the U.S., nor weapons manufacturers, have the right to profit from killing Palestinians. You have no right to say that you stand with Palestinians while sending weapons that kill them,“ she stated at the end.
