“Graveyard of Numbers”: Israel holds the bodies of 552 Palestinians in secret cemeteries and refrigerated morgues

In addition to the bodies of hundreds of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, Israel still holds the bodies of 552 individuals, of which 256 are in a secret cemetery known as the “Graveyard of Numbers,” and 296 are in refrigerated morgues, according to Palestinian institutions.

A delegation of Palestinian prisoners associated with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the Prisoners’ Association, the Zamir Human Rights Institution, and the National Initiative for the Recovery of Martyrs’ Bodies issued a joint statement on August 27th, the Day of Reclaiming the Martyrs’ Bodies.
The bodies of 552 individuals are kept in various cemeteries and refrigerated morgues. There are 256 bodies in cemeteries and 296 in morgues, the statement revealed.

Among them are nine women, 32 prisoners, 55 minors, and 149 Palestinians who were killed after October 7th of last year, when Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip began, reported Anadolu Agency.

The Israeli administration buries the bodies of Palestinians it has killed in secret graves known as the “Graveyard of Numbers,” where only numbers are marked instead of names.
