Georgia, Russia await next round of Geneva talks

The eighth round of international security consultations on the Caucasus will be held in Geneva today. A Georgian delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Giorgi Bokeria has already arrived in Geneva.

Bokeria said the Georgian side will raise issues to resolve security problems and thwart future kidnappings. A major topics will be guaranteeing the release of four Georgian teens detained by Tskhinvali regime earlier this month.

Delegations from Russia and de facto South Ossetia will leave for Geneva with their proposals. The Russian side will attempt to coordinate a document on the non-use of force, delegation head Grigory Karasin said.

The South Ossetian delegation also plans to raise the issue of concluding an agreement on the non-use of force. A major issue will include missing people, refugees and humanitarian issues, delegation head Boris Chochiyev said.

The seventh round of Geneva talks were held Sept. 17.
