Macedonia will not introduce visa requirements on Albania’s citizens following the EU’s decision to exempt Macedonian citizens from visa obligations when travelling to EU countries.
In an interview for Albanian television station News 24, Macedonian government spokesman Sefik Duraku dismissed the rumors that Macedonia plans to snap visa requirement on Albanian tourists. He told the broadcaster that the government has no intention of imposing visa obligations on the citizens of Albania.
“Macedonia is not a member of the European Union, and therefore, there is no reason to introduce visa obligations for Albanian citizens,” Duraku said.
Media in Albania praised the EU’s decision to lift visa requirement for citizens of neighboring Macedonia, saying the move would foster the country’s development.
