TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini here on Thursday stressed that Tehran respects Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity while supporting a lasting and fair peace in the region.
According to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau, Hosseini said in reaction to a referendum in Karabachos region in the Republic of Azerbaijan that the Islamic Republic of Iran respects territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan while it is a fervent supporter of a fair and sustainable peace in the region.
He stressed, “Iran has always voiced its preparedness to actively assist the Karabachos peace talks.”
The spokesman further expressed the hope that the Karabachos talks would continue in light of democratic processes and lead to a lasting peace in the region.
