Bulgaria and Romania are partners in the European Union not rivals, said Friday Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc at a news conference after the meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borisov commenting on the joint projects, the two countries intent to implement.
“There are so many things, which unifies us – we have common interests in the EU, we are partners not rivals,” said Romanian Prime Minister.
The signing of a memorandum of understanding on cross-border cooperation means EUR 260 million in European funds in favor of the Bulgarian and Romanian citizens, Emil Boc said.
“We have bad news for our ministers because they will have lots of work from now on. Thus we decided to meet periodically, which will give opportunity to check up how the ministers and the subordinate structures are working and the competitive privilege we have will be out into practice through concrete projects in favor of the two countries…. We will meet often and you will get used to us. I hope we will reach pragmatic results at each meeting,” Emil Boc said.
