Turkish PM to meet Greek counterpart

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is visiting traditional rival Greece for the second time in five months and will hold informal talks with the country’s leadership on ongoing disputes. Erdoğan is attending a Mediterranean conference on climate change and is due to meet later Friday with Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou. 

NATO allies Greece and Turkey have improved ties over the past decade but remain at odds over war-divided Cyprus and boundaries in the Aegean Sea.

The disputes have hindered Turkey’s bid to join the European Union.
